Gósol
This small mountain town is known for two of his great characters, Josep Mª Ballarin who is the honorary citizen of the town, and Pablo Picasso, who made an artistic and fruitful stay in the town, leaving behind the famous statue that presides over the town’s main square, the so-called “Dona dels Pans”.
One of the better ways to describe the town is through the words of Ballarín: “In the village we have people coming from outside who have become one of us without any annoyances or tears. And I do not talk about myself because for these towns the priest who lives here becomes one of them easily without any effords.
I could tell you the peacefully living you make in Gósol, finding known people on the street, asking a man how is he doing with the card game, finding some gentle woman who carries the first collected mushrooms and some other that brings to you some lettuce. In a village everything is a conversation topic, and thanks to God, little gossips keeps us from talking about politics. “
